Architectural design
New Hospital of Battipaglia
Design of the distribution layouts and construction works related to the New Hospital of Battipaglia, commissioned by ASL Salerno.
Business Challenge
Ensure economic sustainability both during the implementation phase and in the operational phase
Respond promptly to the healthcare needs of the ASL and the target population
Optimize operational management and logistical flows, ensuring future adaptability of the structure
Promote patient centrality, environmental comfort, and the well-being of operators
Ensure functionality, efficiency, and architectural quality of the spaces
Reduce clinical risk through targeted design solutions
Milestones
1. Clinical-management sizing: analysis of the context, identification of Functional Areas and hospital Departments, definition of necessary resources and equipment.
2. Functional Program: preparation of the list of rooms with their environmental, technical and technological characteristics, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
3. Functional relationships matrix: definition of interconnections between Functional Areas to support typological and logistical design.
4. Logistic-distribution scenario: identification of the optimal configuration for the distribution of spaces and routes.
5. Hospital Grid: based on the results of the dynamic simulation of hospital operation, identification of the best functional and spatial placement of operational units.
6. Architectural design: development of healthcare layouts and design solutions aimed at quality, efficiency, safety and accreditation of the facility.
Conclusions
The integrated approach between clinical-management planning and architectural design has guided the development of the New Hospital of Battipaglia in all its phases. The contribution of AGM has made it possible to create a feasible, sustainable project that fully meets current and prospective needs (evaluation of elements of functional flexibility), in accordance with regulatory and quality constraints, always respecting the timelines defined in the development program for the design of the work.
